LCK became involved as project manager for the McNair Hall Renovation with a targeted Phase I duration of May through August, 2011. Design and construction documents had not been prepared, scope remained unrefined and budget projections unverified. LCK quickly assessed the scope needs, secured design and construction services and on a fast track plan, obtained permits to begin work as soon as the semester ended. With an aggressive overtime schedule and carefully coordinated trades, the project was completed in time for the fall opening date.
Phase II was planned for a 2012 May through August completion and included common area renovations such as finish upgrades, ADA accessibility compliance, conversion of existing meeting and storage area to a fitness center and coffee shop/lounge area and nutritional health education space, freshman orientation training rooms, and other elements which totaled 18,000 square feet for a cost of $600,000. Phase II was completed on time and in budget.
